SAN DIEGO, CA, 4/24/2017 – The Ambulance Program of Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. (Arrowhead) has been recreated with a new carrier and is now managed by Bellingham Underwriters (Bellingham), Arrowhead’s commercial transportation experts. The program is now open for new and existing producer contracts.
The Ambulance Program features carrier Old Republic Insurance Group (“A” rated by A.M. Best), targeting private and for-profit emergency/911 ambulance companies. It offers coverage for automotive liability, automotive physical damage, inland marine, general liability, sexual abuse/molestation, garage keepers legal liability, property and medical malpractice/ professional liability.
The program focuses on risks dedicated to 911 emergency calls as well as non-emergency transport of patients, as between hospitals or hospital to home. Additionally, the program allows some flexibility for other ancillary/related operations.
“For our expanded Ambulance Program, we’ve created a new rating approach for auto and medical malpractice lines, developed a detailed and more accurate weighting approach, drafted the rate and ruling filings, and incorporated new rating parameters in our automated systems,” explained Ken Robinette, president of Bellingham. “For our producers and insureds, this provides a more stable, long-term market that is more sensitive to real variances in risk. No more one-price-fits- all. Deserving risks will receive very competitive pricing.”
